Our story with HappyCake began in 2019, at the birthday party of our friend’s son. That was when we first tried the chocolate-banana cake, and it left an unforgettable impression on us. Before that, like many people, we simply bought cakes at the nearest pastry shop. But that day our friend said: “Try HappyCake — it’s a whole different level.” We did. And we fell in love with the very first bite. The cake was so tender, so delicious and so cozy, just like homemade, that we knew right away: this was something special.
During the lockdown in 2020 a thought came to us: “What if we opened our own HappyCake shop?” There were none nearby, and the idea of opening a franchise became a real inspiration for us. We started writing to the brand team. First we asked about opening in Astana, then in Oral (Uralsk). Unfortunately, the Oral franchise had been sold just a month before our request. But we did not give up. Every month my husband kept writing to the company, asking about opening in other cities.
In 2021 we even offered to open a shop in Dubai. But at that time HappyCake was not yet planning to enter the international market. However, they thanked us and promised to come back to the idea later.
Then, in 2022, the long-awaited email arrived: HappyCake was going to open a franchise in Astana. We gladly agreed and went through the interviews. To be honest, we were nervous — before us, serious entrepreneurs came to the interviews, some even in business suits. And we were simply ourselves — in everyday clothes, with sincere love for the brand. Apparently it was exactly this sincerity that made the difference — we were chosen!

After the joy came the worry: “What next?” Finding premises for the production facility turned out to be not so easy. We searched for almost two months, went through dozens of options, asked around and compared. And when we finally found “the one,” it was a real relief and the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.
That is how our journey with HappyCake began — from a slice of cake to our own franchise. And this is only the beginning. Today we already have five outlets where everyone can try our favorite cakes and desserts.
